Annual Meeting Notice:

The Annual Meeting of the Overland Park Rotary Club Foundation will be held immediately following the Annual Meeting of the Club on June 17, 2024. The purpose of the meeting is to receive reports from the Foundation’s President and Treasurer; to vote on a change of the Foundation’s IRS tax status; and to recommend that the Club appoint new Foundation trustees and officers.
Foundation Tax Status
The Foundation’s Trustees have unanimously approved a change to the Foundation’s Federal tax status, from an IRS 501(c)(3) public charitable organization to a 501(c)(3) private charitable organization. With this change the Foundation will be a private foundation supporting the Overland Park Rotary Club. This change means that the Foundation will have more flexibility to use income from its investment account for charitable purposes. Legal council has prepared amendments to the Foundation’s Articles of Incorporation and ByLaws to make these changes (click these links for copies of the proposed Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws). The Foundation Trustees recommends that the members of the Foundation and Club approve these proposed changes, which are similar to that of the Overland Park South Rotary Foundation.
Foundation Trustees
Under the new Bylaws Foundation Trustees and officers are appointed by the Club. Currently the Foundation Trustees are: Molly Camis, Trent Dansel, Dave White, Chuck Gasser, David Austin, Chad Tenpenny, Dustin Lewis and John Yorke. Dustin Lewis and John Yorke terms have expired. It is anticipated that the Club and Foundation officers will mirror one another, except for the treasurer position, and at least one non-Club officer as a Foundation Trustee.

Overland Park Rotary Club Foundation

The Overland Park Rotary Foundation was established as a vehicle to provide humanitarian and education services to the local community and to the International Rotary Foundation which reaches out to the world.

The Overland Park Rotary Foundation's roots go back to 1994. The Foundation is a separate non-profit (501C3) organization that serves the Overland Park Rotary Club.

The Board of Directors is elected annually by Rotary Club Membership.

Each Overland Park Rotary Club member is a member of the Overland Park Rotary Foundation. This means Club Members are always invited to get involved, give ideas and recommend community grant requests at any time. Refer to our Contribution & Grant Guidelines to the left for qualifying information.

Please refer to the Club Calendar for upcoming Foundation meetings/ locations.

Additionally, The Foundation benefits from bequests and memorial gifts from Club Members. The Foundation uses these gifts for a variety of projects that benefit Overland Park Rotary Club Programs and the local community. Contributions are welcome.
