Marc Harrell is the CEO and Chief Inclusion Officer of Variety KC, The Children’s Charity of Greater
Kansas City. Before joining the Variety KC staff in 2023, Marc worked alongside the charity for nearly
two decades and served on its Board of Directors for over 8 years, including 3 years as Board President.
Marc and his husband, Ken Burrell, are among Variety KC’s longest-running active individual donors.
Marc has had the pleasure of watching the #InclusionRevolution take flight in Kansas City and has been
deeply involved in Variety KC’s growth across the region, including inclusive playground and sports
complex openings, accessible spaces inside the new terminal at KCI, and the Ten Parks Project, a
landmark initiative bringing fully inclusive parks to communities throughout the metro. A firm believer in
Universal Design, Marc champions spaces where every child can play side by side. He also serves on a
national advisory board for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

he’s traveling the world, one of his biggest passions. Marc lives in Leawood with Ken and their Border
Collie rescues, Tanner and Andy.
