The Annual Meeting of the Overland Park Rotary Club Foundation will be held immediately following the Annual Meeting of the Club on June 19, 2023. The purpose of the meeting is to receive reports from the Foundation’s President and Treasurer and to elect four Trustees to serve two-year terms on the Foundation Board beginning July 1, 2023, and extending through June 30, 2025.

The Board of Trustees is composed of nine members, seven of whom are elected by the Membership to serve staggered terms of two years each. Trustees are limited to three two-year terms. The Club’s President and President-Elect serve one-year terms as ex officio members of the Board with votes while serving in their respective Club leadership positions.

There are four Trustee positions to be filled as of June 30, 2023. Tim Steele and Jeff Ellis have completed three two-year terms and are not eligible to serve again. Erik Rome has decided not to seek a new two-year term. Tam Singer will be completing her first two-year term and has indicated her willingness to be re-elected to a second two-year term. Effective June 30, 2023, the new President and President-Elect of the Club will become Trustees.

The current members of the Board of Trustees, constituting a quorum and having determined that Tam Singer is eligible for re-election, have nominated Tam Singer for re-election to her current position. The Board has also nominated Dave White for the position vacated by Erik Rome; David Austin for the position vacated by Tim Steele; and Charles Gasser for the position vacated by Jeff Ellis.  Other nominations for the open board positions are also solicited from the Members.

Any Member wishing to nominate a Club Member or any Club Member interested in serving on the Foundation’s Board should submit the nominee’s name or their own expression of interest to Foundation Secretary, John Yorke (john_yorke@sbcglobal.net), on or before June 6, 2023.

Board members must be a Club Member in good standing and be willing to serve on the Foundation’s Board for two years without compensation. Nominees will be asked to provide a brief bio and a statement expressing their desire to serve.

In absence of additional nominees, the Board of Trustees will recommend to the Members that a unanimous ballot be recorded in favor of the persons nominated by the Trustees.
