Connections to Success
Spring is near!  Let's clean out those closets and donate your used - but not used up - WORK clothes to Connections to Success in KC, MO. They need MEN’s and WOMEN’S clothes for OFFICE work or for OUTDOOR work, shoes, accessories, belts, purses, etc. Leave your donations on the back table during a meeting OR, make it easy for Connie, drop them off anytime at Dana’s office (Visit OP) for the March Clothing Drive Project.
Visit Overland Park (OP Chamber Building), 9001 W. 110th St. Suite 100,Overland Park, KS 66210

Important update on our book project!
The OP Rotary Reads Book Drive initiative is making a significant donation to the Johnson County Christmas Bureau since our Book Drive is losing our current storage space as of the end of March.  We will not need assistance with sorting books or distribution as noted previously in the eSpoke.   JCCB is taking the bulk of our materials and food stuffs, the organization will provide the transport and volunteers to take our inventory.  Will has found a home for any books or office supplies the JoCo Christmas Bureau is not taking.

FAMILY OF ROTARY
Sometimes we get GOOD news, too!
Received this week from member Mick Lerner:

Dear Friends,
Because you have been so thoughtful, and so concerned about me, I am passing along some positive news I just received.  This week, while I was in Houston for the first comprehensive tests since my diagnosis ten weeks ago, the tests showed that all cancerous masses have been significantly reduced in size by the immunotherapy drug I have been receiving.  My doctor was pleased, but she explained that this is expected from this new drug.  You can imagine how encouraging this news was to me.  She was also very pleased that I am feeling so good, eating so well, suffering no loss of appetite or energy, and working full time.
As I continue to receive this therapy every two weeks, I hope it continues to work its magic.
Thanks again for your messages, and for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers. - Mick

Life puts little obstacles in our paths sometimes...uneven pavement, detours, or a Yield sign. If a fellow Rotarian has hit a rough road, please let the Family know about it. carolwattsks@gmail.com
