This Week's Speaker is Jason Camis, Executive Director, Sertoma
As the executive director for Sertoma International, Jason Camis leads one of the nation’s oldest service organizations, founded and based here in Kansas City since 1912. Jason’s role is to provide leadership for all programs and services, including the internationally known Hearing Aid Project, which distributes refurbished hearing aids to low-income individuals. Prior to his role with Sertoma, Jason spent 20+ years in nonprofit leadership roles. Jason holds degrees from Michigan State University and Eastern Michigan University.
In his ‘spare’ time, he is co-owner of Transport Brewery, with locations in Gardner and Shawnee. He serves on the executive committee of the World Federation of Jewish Holocaust Survivors & Descendants and the Kindertransport Association, sharing his grandmother’s Holocaust survival story with audiences nationwide.
Originally from Detroit, Jason has called Kansas home for over 20 years. He lives with his wife Molly, their daughters Gabriella (18) and Luciana (12) in Overland Park, KS.

For nearly 20 years, the Overland Park Rotary has partnered with our KidsTLC residential program to create one of the most heartfelt days of the year.
Hosted by our friends at the Overland Park Walmart, each Rotarian pairs up with one of our 70 residential clients (plus a KidsTLC staff member!) for a mission that’s equal parts joyful and educational: shopping for a gift for someone special in the child’s life.
Before the big day, kids brainstorm who matters to them most — a family member, a mentor, a therapist, even a beloved pet waiting at home — and make a list of gift ideas.
Then comes the fun:
budgeting their funds
choosing the perfect present
picking out wrapping paper
and wrapping everything together in Walmart’s breakroom, generously offered by their team.
This event teaches so much more than giving.
It’s an exercise in gratitude, decision-making, budgeting, and celebrating the people who support our kids on and off campus — whether they walk on two legs or four.
Thank you to Overland Park Rotary and Walmart for helping our kids learn, give, and shine.
