NO MEETING ON MONDAY, NOV. 4 - BUT HERE'S WHAT YOU DO ON A MINGLE MONDAY!!
1. Alternate idea #1 - Pick up the phone and say "Hey, Rotary buddy, wazzup? I haven't had a good conversation with you for ages. How about a no-meeting meet-up on Monday?"
2. Alternate idea #2 - Check out the upcoming social events or service events. Go for it!
3. Alternate idea #3 - Add a tag line at the bottom of your outgoing email after your signature. "I'm proud to be a Rotarian! Let me tell you why."
The OP Rotary Foundation has unanimously voted to update our existing Foundation Bylaws which are attached. The Club will need to pass these proposed Bylaw changes in order for them to be fully adopted/implemented and the membership needs to have these Bylaws available for review for at least 10 days prior to a vote at an upcoming Club meeting. A special thank you is extended to Jeff Ellis who assisted with his critical task.
Of special note are the key changes in the Bylaws which are also aimed at aligning the fiscal years of both the Club and the Foundation along with items listed below:
ARTICLE IV, 2. (a) – Amended to coordinate the timing of the Foundation’s Annual Meeting with that of the Club and to bring the terms of the elected Trustees in line with the change of fiscal years. There is also a change to allow one Trustee’s term to expire at the end of this calendar year as currently scheduled and to shorten the terms of all other elected Trustees to align those terms with the change in fiscal years.
ARTICLE IV, 5. – Changed the Membership quorum requirement from 50% of the Members to 30%.
ARTICLE V, 2. – Clarified that the Board of the Foundation shall be comprised of a total of 9 Trustees; 7 elected Trustees plus the Club President and President-Elect, ex-officio, with vote, by virtue of their respective positions.
ARTICLE V, 3. - Amended to coordinate Trustee terms of office with the changed fiscal year.
ARTICLE VI, 2. – Amended to schedule the Annual Meeting to immediately follow the annual meeting of the Club in June of each year.
