SAVE THE DATE!!!  KC DAY!!!
APRIL 10TH IS KANSAS CITY DAY!!

This is the most fun event, with a short and sweet time commitment (a couple of hours) in which you get to:
    - Hang out with one other Rotarian and get to know him or her while having fun selling newspapers
    - Wear blue jeans and a ball cap
    - Raise money for some kids who could really use a camp experience
    - Raise awareness for Rotary throughout the KC area
    - Make like a carnival barker to fulfill that latent fantasy
...
Sell some papers, send a kid to camp!  Do it for them, for yourself, for Rotary.  To sign up for this commitment, contact Jeff Goodman:
jgoodman4823@gmail.com or cell phone 913/219-5530  and GO ROYALS!
MAY 5TH AND 6TH...PARTIES! SERVICE EVENT! ROTARIANS!

The 2017 Rotary 5710 District Conference IS RIGHT HERE in our own back yard, and registration is now live!

Please visit the registration site at https://rotary5710conference.eventbrite.com and register by March 15th to take advantage of the Early Bird special rate of just $99! As you can see by the event description below, this is a fantastic value for what you will get at the conference this year!

Start the weekend on Friday by learning about the Rotary International and District goals for 2017-2018 and how to apply those goals to your club.

We'll pause in the middle of the day and do what Rotary does best: a service project! We'll pack meals for Rise Against Hunger to help end world hunger.

After the afternoon sessions, gear up (or rest up!) as we'll have a late night pub crawl across several restaurants and venues at Prariefire, ending with bowling at Pinstripes!

Shake off the cobwebs and get the blood flowing by joining in our Polio Purple Pinkie Trail Fun Run Saturday morning and help us raise funds to help end polio (or skip the run and just donate to get the t-shirt)!

After a morning session with a trio of inspiring speakers and recognition, we'll split into groups and head out on the adventure of your choice:

Seasoned golfers and complete hacks will both enjoy an afternoon at TopGolf - no clubs required.
Always wanted to try skydiving, but don't want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane? Check out iFly indoor skydiving!
Are you a sport shooter or Kentucky Derby fan? Support a fellow Rotary club and check out the Guns & Horses event presented by Western Johnson County Rotary at a special District Conference attendee rate! (Note: Separate registration for this event required at http://westjocorotary.org/Page/guns-horses-at-powder-creek)
Looking for an activity with a more leisurely pace? Check out “The World’s Largest Dinosaurs” and other exhibits at the Museum at Prairiefire.

After your activity, head back to the hotel for a little rest before wrapping up the weekend with the evening banquet featuring the fine dining of the Sheraton Hotel Executive Chef David Stevens.

Or, if you want a little more action and variety, we’ll provide transportation to and from another great Rotary club event, The Days of Wine and Rotary, where you can sample from over 40 wines and Boulevard beer, savor specialty entrees and desserts from the area’s top restaurants, and participate in a silent and live auction to support the Olathe Rotary Club’s charity partners. (Note: Separate registration for this event required at http://thedaysofwineandrotary.com/)
The Trilogy of the OPR.  FEEDBACK PLEASE!
For those of you at last week's meeting who heard the presentation from our 3 boards (Club, Foundation, and Star Spangled Spectacular) about the future agendas for each, WHAT DID YOU THINK?  President Trish Reedy and future president Jim Courtney are open to your questions and critique.  Let them hear from you today!

FAMILY OF ROTARY

We're Family.  We're Friends.

VOLUNTEERS PLEASE to assist Doug and Susan Young in the recovery from Doug's leg amputation.

1.  Visitors welcome for one thing.  Call Doug in advance - try his cell phone - to see if the coast is clear and to find out which facility he may have moved to.  913/461-1882.
2. Susan would deeply appreciate some driving service for Doug occasionally to his rehab visits etc. in the coming weeks. Let them know if you might be available to help in this regard.
3. Can we get them a few meals?  Remember Doug is diabetic and his eating is restricted. Again call in advance if you care to offer something. I think by mid-March they should be home, and hungry!
Doug's home address is:  7900 W. 118th Pl.  OP  66210
And he IS checking email: dyoung@ceresrealty.net

And Fred Goodman is hobbling after surgery to repair hamstrings -- OUCH.
The club sent flowers, but cards are always nice, right?
Fred Goodman, 4989 W. 150th PL, Leawood KS  66224

With a group our size, invariably someone always needs a friend -- or flowers, or a card, or a hot meal delivered to the door, or just a phone call!
Who is that person this week?  Let us all know by sending an email to carolwattsks@gmail.com
