Our 2020 District Grant is now completed! We have distributed 200 pairs of back to school shoes secured through a District Grant to refugee children in KCK and Shawnee. Yea! And we scored an additional win... We tapped into Mike Meyer’s stash of children’s books and added about 400 books to go to the younger kids. Unfortunately, we could not take part in the distribution due to COVID-19 protocols. This we delegated to the older youth leaders.
These efforts always take many hands, and we are grateful to our partnerships with AdventHealth (Laurie McCormack, Molly Haase, and Jeanette Metzler), Mercy & Truth Clinic (Anne Rauth), and the Shawnee Mission South HS Interact Club (Katie Hiebl, Oscar Kariuki, and Jocelyne Trujillo). And thank yous to Rotarians Clayton Smith, Mike Tracy, Tim Steele, John Yorke, Mike Meyer, Brad Vaughn, Jeff Ellis, Barbara Kopack Hill, and Scott Robison for their efforts in making this project a success.
