Senator Richard Bond Memorial Scholarships
The Overland Park Rotary Foundation is pleased to announce the second year of the Senator Richard Bond Memorial Scholarship program.  Through these scholarships, it our goal to celebrate young people who have a passion for service and who plan to pursue or are pursuing  higher education. This also helps introduce high schoolers to Rotary through their high school Interact program with a strong focus on community service.

We are excited to award four outstanding young people scholarships this year.  We will award two high school seniors at Shawnee Mission South (SMS) High School who were involved in the SMS Interact Club each $2500 scholarships as they pursue higher education.  These students are Emily Haines (who plans to attend Kansas State University this Fall) and Jack Shaw (who plans to attend the University of Kansas this Fall).  We are also pleased to provide Jocelyn Trujillo and Katie Hiebl each $1500 scholarships as they continue their second year of higher education.  They were both recipients last year.  Jocelyne attends Rockhurst University and Katie attends the University of Arkansas.

The Rotary Foundation board plans to award these scholarships during our club lunch and meeting on Monday June 13 from 12:00-1:00 pm at the Overland Park Doubletree Hotel. We have extended an invitation to Mrs. Sue Bond and her family, should they be able to attend.
