Once again, thanks go out to Mike Meyer and Brad Vaughn who continue to do our heavy lifting, this week delivering pallets of goodies to replentish snacks at five area hospitals.
EVER-POSITIVE, OUR EXCHANGE STUDENT GIVES IT ALL HIGH MARKS - (virus notwithstanding...)
Thanks to Dave Stallings for forwarding on this latest email from Matthew. Hope we can hear from him at a meeting soon!
Mr. Stallings,
I wanted to thank you for all of the help you provided in arranging what ended up being such an incredible experience. I can't thank the Overland Park Rotary club enough for their support in this adventure.
Even though it was terminated early because of the Coronavirus, I am now safe home and full of great memories.
My French proficiency has skyrocketed, I've made friends all over the world, and I now have three homes with three families in France within which I am welcome anytime of the year.
This has been huge for my personal development, and may even lead to future internship and job opportunities abroad.
It's difficult to express eight and a half months in words, within the first week the exchange had already surpassed my high expectations. I feel as if this exchange has changed the entire course of my life for the better.
I would love to come in for a meeting to talk about my experience.
Once again, thank you for giving me this opportunity.
We're a family. So, this is like "call your mother."
Let us know if you get sick. Let us know if you are in a pinch. Let us know if a loved one passes away.
Let us know. We have certain powers.
Need someone to deliver some food or personal care items to you? We have shop and drop volunteers. If you'd rather not get out and would like a friend to run a shopping errand for you, make your wishes known: Carol 816-806-0242.
