The Rotarian magazine changed this month. It's now - simply - ROTARY.
There's some content changes, some graphics redesign that was overdue, and naturally more occasions to refer to links or web-related topics of interest.
For example:
- The economic value of volunteer services provided by Rotary adds up to $850 million per year.
- Student exchanges are still happening, but on a location-by-location basis, with lots of restrictions.
- Because of the effects of the pandemic, one in three U.S. households with children under 18 are food insecure.
And ... Rotary is no stranger to seeing the devastating impact of communicable diseases. What is Rotary International doing to respond to Covid19?
OUR FRIENDS AT THE CHRISTMAS BUREAU WILL NEED A BOOST IN THIS DIFFICULT YEAR.
Here's info about how to be that booster!
This year's Johnson County Christmas Bureau Holiday of Hope Benefit will be a virtual event. That means our entire Rotary Club can attend! What a fun way to support JCCB while social distancing and provide warmth and sustenance to over 12,000 low income neighbors. What could be better?
Barb Kopack Hill and hubby Ed are planning to invite a couple of neighbors, enjoy our dinners prepared by PLAZA Catering (reservations must be placed by September 25th to have them delivered to your home), a bottle of wine, enjoy the short program, enjoy the entertainment, participate in the on line auction, and support a worthy cause!
NOTE: If you are a bit competitive and want to help our club earn bragging rights, let's see if we can have the most representation from OP Rotary. (Other Rotary clubs think they have a chance - we'll show them).
