SAVE THE DATE!!!  KC DAY!!!
APRIL 10TH IS KANSAS CITY DAY!!

This is the most fun event, with a short and sweet time commitment (a couple of hours) in which you get to:
    - Hang out with one other Rotarian and get to know him or her while having fun selling newspapers
    - Wear blue jeans and a ball cap
    - Raise money for some kids who could really use a camp experience
    - Raise awareness for Rotary throughout the KC area
    - Make like a carnival barker to fulfill that latent fantasy
...
Sell some papers, send a kid to camp!  Do it for them, for yourself, for Rotary.  To sign up for this commitment, contact Jeff Goodman:
jgoodman4823@gmail.com or cell phone 913/219-5530  and GO ROYALS!
And the winners are .....  !!
SAVE THE DATE if you are a winner of two tickets to this event at JCCC:  May 13th, Saturday at 8PM.  Carol Watts will be contacting you a couple weeks in advance with ticket info.  OPTIONALLY, there is a preshow dinner right there at CafĂ© Tempo.  For those of you who have not had a meal there, you shouldn't miss this!  You can find menu and show details at:
http://www.jccc.edu/performing-arts-series/events/2016-2017/100-years-of-broadway.html

The winners of two tickets each for the event are:  Jim Hix, Donna Lauffer, Tracey Osborne, Trish Reedy, Bruce Robb, Melynn Sight, Lynn Smith, Dave Stallings, Dave Lindstrom, Cory Barash, and Larry Bigus.  RUNNERS UP in case any of these members cannot attend are, in order:  Chad King, Darren Chadwick, and Steve Wilkerson.  Carol Watts will distribute information about ticketing in advance of the event -- and will serve as "chaperone" for this unreliable group.

Winners were chosen in the exact order of when, starting Monday Feb. 6, they logged on and edited their membership information.

FAMILY OF ROTARY

We're Family.  We're Friends.

Last Monday the 20th, Doug Young had his right leg amputated above-the-knee. He is "happy he lost some weight", but enduring quite a lot at this stage.  Family and neighbors are helping out, but wife Susan has requested this:

1.  Visitors welcome, KU med center in the cardiac wing, CTS room 8. Call her in advance to see if the coast is clear, her cell phone 913-461-1798. Doug will be there probably until Saturday 3/25, then will be moved to a rehab center at KU, then to a rehab facility maybe closer to Overland Park.
2. Obviously without a right leg Doug will not be driving anytime soon. Susan would deeply appreciate some driving service for Doug occasionally to his rehab visits etc. in the coming weeks. Let her know if you might be available to help in this regard.
3. In a week or so, she would like a few meals....and remember Doug is diabetic and his eating is restricted. Again call Susan in advance if you care to offer something.
Doug's home address is:  7900 W. 118th Pl.  OP  66210
And he IS checking email: dyoung@ceresrealty.net

With a group our size, invariably someone always needs a friend -- or flowers, or a card, or a hot meal delivered to the door, or just a phone call!
Who is that person this week?  Let us all know by sending an email to carolwattsks@gmail.com
