And the winners are .....  !!
SAVE THE DATE if you are a winner of two tickets to this event at JCCC:  May 13th, Saturday at 8PM.  Carol Watts will be contacting you a couple weeks in advance with ticket info.  OPTIONALLY, there is a preshow dinner right there at Café Tempo.  For those of you who have not had a meal there, you shouldn't miss this!  You can find menu and show details at:
http://www.jccc.edu/performing-arts-series/events/2016-2017/100-years-of-broadway.html

The winners of two tickets each for the event are:  Jim Hix, Donna Lauffer, Tracey Osborne, Trish Reedy, Bruce Robb, Melynn Sight, Lynn Smith, Dave Stallings, Dave Lindstrom, Cory Barash, and Larry Bigus.  RUNNERS UP in case any of these members cannot attend are, in order:  Chad King, Darren Chadwick, and Steve Wilkerson.  Carol Watts will distribute information about ticketing in advance of the event -- and will serve as "chaperone" for this unreliable group.

Winners were chosen in the exact order of when, starting Monday Feb. 6, they logged on and edited their membership information.

Remember our announcement last week from Junior Achievement?  Feel like this may be a good place for some of your talents?  HERE'S HOW!

Junior Achievement (JA) is helping kids across Kansas City change their thinking from “I can’t” to “I can!” JA prepares kids to succeed now and into their future endeavors by helping them understand how money, careers, and business ownership work. We need your help to deliver these critical life lessons this spring. Join us at a local elementary school and volunteer to serve in a classroom as a JA “teacher”. Still not convinced? Check out this video of our kids talking about turning dreams into reality all because of JA’s programs.

In less than 5 hours (45-minutes/week for 5 weeks) you have the ability to change a child’s future by teaching them the skills they need to succeed as adults in the real world. Junior Achievement provides all of the materials and training you need to teach the class. We promise you will have fun and earn superhero status with the students.

Give back to your community and experience the joy that comes from shaping a child’s future— SIGN UP NOW!

FAMILY OF ROTARY

We're Family.  We're Friends.

Doug Young continues to struggle with diabetes-related complications.  Wait for an update at Monday's meeting, but at this point a pending angioplasty next week  may hopefully help Doug increase his leg circulation enough that the scheduled amputation of one foot (just below the knee) can take place with confidence that healing will occur.  Carol Watts will try to coordinate a few supportive activities for Doug and wife Susan.
Doug's home address is:  7900 W. 118th Pl.  OP  66210

With a group our size, invariably someone always needs a friend -- or flowers, or a card, or a hot meal delivered to the door, or just a phone call!
Who is that person this week?  Let us all know by sending an email to carolwattsks@gmail.com
