Kickoff Oktoberfest at KC Bier's new Lenexa location.
Bratzels, Bierricks, Wurst and other appetizers provided. Members are responsible for their beverage and any special food orders. We will be in the outdoor Biergarten unless weather moves us to the Bierhalle. KC Bier has supported our club with annual donations to the Crawfish Festival and other events. Please join your Rotary friends and support KC Bier in this new location they just opened in July.
* Membership is holding steady at 95 since July 1. The delinquency list is the shortest it has been in several months (good news). We currently do not have any elected officials from the City or the County. Bill will reach out to them with an invite.
* We have a robust list of service projects (thanks Ed) in the upcoming months. See the eSpoke for more details.
* We also have a great list of social hours coming up (Thanks Edie, Ed and Dave Kugler). see eSpoke.
* Doug reported that we have money in the bank and our bills are getting paid.
* The Board passed the long range plan (5 years). We will review it at the Annual Meeting in December.
Overland Park South legacy club members will recall Geeks for Kids and their annual Trunk or Treat. John Rasmus and Harold Frye have been faithful participants and would like others to join them. You are welcome to arrive any time between 1:00 and 1:30p. Guests will arrive at 2p; so, we ask that you arrive in time to park, set up your trunk and do whatever else you need to do before little ones start percolating around the parking lot. As you might guess, we don’t want cars moving around while kids are trick or treating. So, please plan on staying until all our little ghosties and ghoulies have cleared the parking lot at around 4p.

Rotary Club volunteers are needed for pouring beer to raise money for our Crawfish Festival Beneficiaries.
Each person earns $15/hour(tax free due to donation). This amount will be donated directly to our charity. You can have friends and family work too.
Everyone gets a free T-shirt and a free ticket to give to a friend or use another day. The ticket will be sent via email in September.
You can sign up for more than one shift, as well as on both days.
Please sign up as soon as you can, so we can insure we fill all the shifts available. Saturday nights are the busiest and hardest to fill-please consider filling those shifts first!
Once you sign up, you will get a confirmation email. If you do not see it, please look for it in the junk folder and mark it safe. You will receive more information/instructions as the event approaches, and it will come through the Volunteer Local website.

2026 District Conference
Hello, District 5710 Rotarians!
Join us in Manhattan for a weekend filled with fun, fellowship, and inspiration as Districts 5710 and 5680 come together for a joint District Conference!
The conference begins Friday, October 23rd at 5:00 p.m. and continues through Saturday evening at the DoubleTree Hotel in Manhattan. It will be a wonderful opportunity to connect with Rotarians from across both districts, exchange ideas, celebrate our impact, and leave inspired for the year ahead.
Be sure to register and reserve your hotel room soon. The conference room block ends October 8!
Please buy a couple of squares in the Polio Plus "game day pool" for the game to be played between Kansas and Kansas State Universities on October 17, 2026. Winning squares will be based on the scores at the end of each of the first three quarters as well as the final score with $100 going to each of those four winners. The balance in the pool will go to POLIO PLUS.
