THIS WEEK'S MEETING
NO MEETING THIS WEEK!

Happy Spring Break!

New Club Membership
For any new member that is inducted between now and July 1, their dues will be $150 per quarter. Starting July 1, our quarterly club dues will be $150 per quarter or $50 per month!
  • For every meeting you attend and want to eat the meal, you will be charged $15. Members will only be charged for meals for the meetings they attend.
  • If you attend the meeting and elect not to eat the meal, write “no meal” beside your name so you won’t be charged for a meal.
  • If you have perfect attendance for the quarter and have elected to pay for a meal each time, your quarterly dues will be capped at $270, the same as the dues are currently.
  • Dues will be charged retrospectively and will have a 30-day grace period. After that, there will be a $50 late fee.
The goal is to make our club more affordable to anyone who wants to join. The more members we have, the more people we have to work in the community on our valuable projects.

The Future of Food: Innovative KC Nonprofit Brings Fresh Food to Black NeighborhoodsKanbe’s Markets

The Problem
The US discards more food than any other country in the world. Approximately 120 billion pounds—or 40% of the food supply intended for people to eat ends up in the landfill annually. 13.5% of US households are food insecure, and since the pandemic, numbers have continued to rise. Over 1.2 million residents in the Kansas City metro live ½ mile or further from fresh food. Despite the evident need for fresh produce in these neighborhoods, for-profit supermarkets

2026 CRAWFISH FESTIVAL

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Crawfish Festival and its long history of giving back to our local community. As Sponsorship Chair, I’m asking each club member to tap into your personal network and help us identify businesses or individuals who may be willing to support this year’s event as a sponsor.

Our most successful sponsorships come from personal connections. A warm introduction from you to a business owner or professional contact is far more effective than a cold call.

How you can help
Please identify three to five contacts—local business owners or individuals—and share the sponsorship opportunities with them.
Sponsorship levels range from:

  • Copper Sponsor ($250) – helping provide tutoring for a youth in care
  • Diamond Sponsor ($10,000) – supporting CASA staff positions

Thank you for helping make this 25th-anniversary Crawfish Festival our most successful one yet!
