Do Good For Erin: Tom Langhofer
After graduating from KU in 1982, Tom began an eight-year career in the banking industry including serving as Senior Vice President at Mark Twain Bank at their downtown location. He left his banking career in 1989 and became General Manager of Rodrock Development, a position he held for 30 years.
Married to Marcy Langhofer for 39 years they have two children, Kathryn Langhofer who lives in Kansas City and Erin Langhofer who is deceased.
In his retirement he continues leading recovery meetings in prisons and transitional living communities but now devotes much of his time to the Do Good for Erin Foundation. A foundation that was started in in 2019 in honor of his daughter Erin, a former domestic violence counselor who was shot and killed at the First Friday’s event in the Crossroads District in 2019. This foundation focuses on helping fund domestic violence shelters throughout the metro area including Rose Brooks and Friends of Yates. Do Good for Erin helped fund a transitional living house in Northeast Kansas City in partnership with Healing House, Inc. in 2024. They are currently in the process of renovating a second house with Friends of Yates also to provide transitional living for women coming out of domestic violence.
Inclusion Connections - Erin Galba
Hear about how Inclusion Connections is using Community Uplift Foundation grant money to create inclusive opportunities for individuals with disabilities in our area. Erin Galba is the Senior Director of Sales, Marketing & Development at Inclusion Connections. She specializes in fundraising, strategic partnerships, marketing, and organizational growth, with more than two decades of experience leading mission-driven initiatives that strengthen communities and create opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
On July 30, Overland Park Rotary Club’s Rotary Cares program organized a back to school food and school supply distribution event at the Truman Sports complex that served over 385 families. Mike Meyer and Dustin Lewis led the planning, and worked with volunteers from the Overland Park Rotary Club, Feed the Children, KC Royals, Niagara Water, VFW, Price Brothers Development and Association of the United Sates Army to staff the event with volunteers. Families with school aged children from Kansas City MO, and Ft. Leavenworth, KS were invited to receive school backpacks, books, food, bottled water and detergent at the event.

Legacy Overland Park Rotary Club members will remember Art Rubin, board member 1996-2001 and serving as club president 1999-2000. The club was informed of his passing by past club member Gene Troehler. Art's services were held in San Diego.
Rotary Means Business (RMB) is an international fellowship of Rotary Internation that encourages Rotarians to support the success of their fellow Rotarians by doing business with them and by referring others to them. RMB is a place to network outside of Rotary Club meetings while adhering to the 4-way test. In addition, it is a great way to attract new members to Rotary by keeping the weekly club meetings focused on Service and RMB on Networking. There are over 260 active chapters worldwide. RMB KC was founded in 2025 by Craig Novorr. After seeing the success of merging OP and OP South clubs and meeting so many new Rotarians, that comradery can extend to all the clubs in our district by gathering once a month to meet each other, learn about each others businesses and recruit new members to District 5710.

Starting with July 2026 the following changes will take place regarding quarterly dues:
Dues will be reduced from $270 to $150 per quarter
Members will be charged $15 per meeting meal and will have the option of not eating/paying for a meal
Invoices are billed through Quickbooks and will include a $5 credit card fee
Checks are still accepted, and the $5 fee can be eliminated from the balance
Let Sara know if you would like to include a $25 donation to Rotary International to your quarterly invoice to help the club meet its goal of $100 per member
