FAMILY OF ROTARY

We're Family.  We're Friends. And gee, it's been a rough season!

Kirby Deeter feel on ice....that isn't nice!
Broke an ankle, and up to 90 days recovery, presently in rehab having had surgery, 4700 Indian Creek Pkwy, OP 66207.
His email is kirby@vadllc.com

Doug Young's in between surgeries, next up is an angioplasty.  Nasty!
Give up the frequent flier card, Doug!
His email is dyoung@ceresrealty.com

Greg Musil wasn't longing for a new rotator cuff deal, but he got one, and it's the arm that supports his crutch ... too much!
He's rolling around the house for several more weeks.
His email is gmusil@dfrglaw.com

With a group our size, invariably someone always needs a friend -- or flowers, or a card, or a hot meal delivered to the door, or just a phone call!
Who is that person this week?  Let us all know by sending an email to carolwattsks@gmail.com

Host some Rotary visitors this summer!

International Camaraderie -- here's your chance!

District 5710 is joining our fellow Rotarians in Missouri for a special event called "Out of Africa - Into Kansas City," which will immediately follow the Rotary International Convention in Atlanta. On June 16 & 17, 2017, more than a hundred Rotarians from Africa will convene in Kansas City, for a time of fellowship and to celebrate the Centennial of our Rotary Foundation, which started in Kansas City!

Rotarian "hosts" are needed to help welcome these visitors to our area! Please see the attached flyer for ways that you can get involved, and visit the website www.outofafrica.rotary13.org  for more details.
Take your sweetie to a great evening out!  FREE!
Watch for announcement in coming weeks about how to enter and win!
Thanks to Joe Sopcich, we will be taking a contingent of OP Rotarians plus their dates to an evening at the Carlsen Center in the spring.  Our little contest will be announced shortly!  (You didn't think there wasn't SOMETHING we would milk this for, did you ... ?!)

Kansas Leadership Center Grants

Want to take your career, your professional development, or your civic involvement to a higher level?  Or know a friend or colleague who does?

Our Rotary club has ben offered 40 grants for members to attend leadership training at this superior institute in Wichita.  Session dates are offered throughout the year, ranging from 2 1/2 day sessions to 7-day sessions.  To learn more or to avail yourself of this significant grant, go to www.kansasleadershipcenter.org or talk to President Trish.
Let's go jam with Garry Mac!

Our own Garry Mac and his Atlantic Express will be playing at Knuckleheads on Friday, Feb. 10th!  Let's warm up the winter and get a group together. I hear Garry's group responds well to song requests if you bat your eyelashes ... (just don't ask him to sing a solo...)
