Members of Rotary District 5710 will be traveling to India for World Polio Day, Oct 22 – 28. Travel and expense details of the trip are here: https://worldpolioday.agratajmahalrotary.org/
Rotarians are encouraged to join the trip, as are family and friends who are not Rotarians. Volunteer teams of four Rotarians will work with local Rotary partners and health workers to vaccinate children and also distribute small gifts provided by Agra Rotary clubs to the children they serve. So far, there are seven local Rotarians registered plus 2 folks from Canada. There is still room for more folks to join. This is a rare chance to see Rotary’s global mission in action and make a direct, measurable impact.
Due to the generosity of a few Rotarians who support Rotary's campaign to eradicate polio worldwide, we also have some financial assistance available. If you are interested in attending or applying for a scholarship, please contact the District 5710 Polio Plus Chair, Maria Wilson at (785) 224-6745 or Maria4PolioPlus@gmail.com. Scholarship Application Deadline extended to June 30, 2026.
At the beginning of this year, the following goals were set for our giving as a Club to Rotary International:
Giving to the Annual Fund: $11,500
Polio Plus Fund: $1000
In order for our club to reach Star Club status and therefor receive extra grant funds from District 5710, at least $100 per capita needs to be donated to the Rotary International Annual Fund. For this year, that amount would be approximately $11,000.
As a reminder, Every Rotarian Every Year, is the goal - to have every Rotarian donation something to the Rotary Foundation. Our goal is $100 per member. Go to https://my.rotary.org/en/donate to make a donation online.
